Guitar teacher, James Klaverenga:

  • I have many favorite players; Segovia, Bream, Wes Montgomery, Robben Ford, Doyle Dykes, to name just a few. (It depends on my mood)

  • We had a Siamese cat named Segovia - great cat!

  • Not a surprise - I’m really proud of my daughter Chaconne’s playing!

  • Over the years, I have played in over 130 locations in Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Tippecanoe Co.

  • My favorite food is dark chocolate. That is a food right? Right??

  • I started playing guitar at age 16, performing at 18 and I opened my store in 1985

  • I’m a life member of the Indianapolis Musicians Union, and a member of Who’s Who

  • I have had many students win full and partial scholarships to study guitar in college

Piano & voice teacher, Julia Klaverenga:

  • I'm from a very musical family, and had great teachers growing up. My mom had an advanced degree in Musical Education and my great aunt sang with and retired from the Metropolitan Opera in NYC.

  • I am a member of the Indianapolis Musician's Union.

  • I spent a dozen years with the US Air Force and have lived in Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, Indiana and Germany.

  • I'm totally addicted to Ancestry.com

  • I was a horse racing jockey in SW Missouri throughout my teen years.

  • I know 31 dishes to make with venison (deer meat). All very tasty!

  • I own a Steinway Crown Jewel Limited Edition Bubinga Mahogany Grand Piano!

  • I can make jerky & homemade soap.

  • I learned to read piano music at age 3, so music is my first written language.

  • I began classical piano competitions at age 9.

  • I'm Jim's wife and Chaconne's mom, which are my greatest accomplishments!

Guitar Teacher Andrew Sittley:

  • Born and Raised in South Bend, Indiana.

  • Degrees in Spanish and Psychology from Purdue

  • Eagle Scout

  • Taught and trained martial arts for 6 years before becoming a music instructor

  • Love to swim in the mornings to keep in shape

  • Favorite food: Sushi!

  • Plays lead guitar in the band Mucklo

  • Lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico and in Vancouver, BC.

  • Used to be a breakdancer
